Still no sign of Hot Wheels Cargo Carriers...

After the JH2 series comes the Hot Wheels Cargo Carriers for the latest Car Culture instalment which I did an unboxing video on YouTube. It is a pain on the mental and wallet for majority of Hot Wheels collectors outside USA. We have to resort ordering online instead of just picking them up on pegs. They may come in weeks or months or never after USA releases.

Of course these are the new breeds of CC which Mattel set them at a higher price. I can see the effort and details but I just could not come to terms with the card. The oversize card no doubt with more room for graphics also add to the shipping cost of course this is not the case if I can have the luxury to pick it up on the peg.

It takes up unnecessary space and comes in a larger than usual carton. On the castings its a different story I must say I’m impressed with the level of details Mattel has put into it. The details are almost on par when I shoot the Ford Transit Super Van with the Porsche GT2 Gulf version

The VW Sunagon is also the “chase” car with one per set and that makes it 3 pieces for the Ford Transit.  The Honda Odyssey which appears in the “Fastest Cars” series on Netflix is my current favourite among the lot.
I can’t share he retail prices for Singapore as we still do not have any sign for JH2 yet sad… Anyway we will still end up paying for Hot Wheels after all the rant and has our local distributors need to buck up on that.

Hot Wheels RLC Boss Hoss Pink Party car rocks!

Set your alarm this coming 24th for the pink Datsun RLC Party car will be on sale in hotwheelscollectors.com if you happen to be one of the 17,500 RLC members. This is the same case for the Boss Hoss who is available last year on Oct 4th-8th at the 31st Annual Collector’s Convention.

A limited number were given out at the event and the rest was up in Hot Wheels Collectors (HWC) website months later available as a redemption car using RLC membership points. Just like the Priority Rewards Blue Boss Hoss the pink version with white combination is gorgeous.

It does not have a serial number on the package which I wonder why but damn it looks real good out of the blister! I have use the left over waterslide decals from the Blue Boss Hoss and it looks fabulous. See more of the Boss Hoss in Hot Kustoms YouTube channel. Enjoy the video!

Hot Wheels Modern Camaro collection with 2018 ZL1 Super Camaro

I need to confess my personal preference is Japanese mini cars. Hence if you follow my Instagram page or Facebook you will see a lot of JDM mini cars content. Of course this is not 100% about JDM hype. Been an Asian collector located in Singapore I was exposed to mainly Tomica and Hot Wheels.

Hot Wheels back then in my childhood days is definitely not about JDM cars. In fact I think 99% are muscle cars and I love them. I will roll them just about anywhere and crash along side with my JDM Tomica. Hence when I start serious in collecting diecasts back in 2012 it’s all about the Camaro and Drag buses till the JDM wave hit.

My most favourite is definitely the ’67 Camaro and of course the modern Camaro. Hence I have selected 8 of my favourite among my Camaro collection and faithfully featured every casting in my Youtube channel. These are all going to be in my permanent collection with the latest additional of the 2018 ’17 Camaro ZL1 STH.

There are a total of 3 Super modern Camaro in my collection with my favourite the 2010 Camaro with Star Wheels. The one which I pay most is definitely the 2012 Toy Fair ZL1 Camaro which I believe you can actually find one at a fair price online since its the JDM reign now. Yes the price actually decline and there is a trend in casting over the years but the love for Camaro will always be there. Thus take a break from JDM cars and appreciate your muscle cars collection. Camaro rocks!

TLV with Hino HHH transporter & Mazda RX-7

Tomica Limited Vintage (TLV) keep making headlines for 2018 with their awesome releases especially on the Blue Collar Trucks. After the Hino Tractor head they have a wing trailer for May which literally blows me away! That’s not all. In August TLV is coming out with the mind blowing Hino HHH341 Heavy Equipment Transport Trailer!

This is the mother of all trailer for the TLV truck series! The flatbed can even carry the standard Hino tractor head or multiples castings. This is even bigger than the heavyweight Hino transporter and god knows what the packaging size is. Believe me TLV will have the magic to make them quite compact.

Also for August is a pair of Toyota Corolla 1600GT in gray and red which falls into the Nostalgic category with impeccable details and never fail to impress collectors. The highlight of all is the upcoming release of the Subaru 360 and especially the Mazda RX-7 (FD3S). As a RX-7 lover I am super excited about this casting. I know TLV is true to the actual 1/1 cars you see on road but I can’t help but pray that they will release the Initial D Redsuns version or at least the theme in yellow.

Unlike other model car makers who just bet their dollar on the most hyped castings such as Datsun 510 and Skyline to milk our money. Tomica and TLV been in Japan will produce any castings regardless if they are in high demand which earn my respect. TLV is always on the forefront in the mini cars market and never fail to amaze collectors worldwide.
