Tomica Lamborghini Performante Vs Centenario Vs Veneno Review

IMO the No.34 Lamborghini Huracan Performante is one of the better mainline release for 2018. This casting also has a first color (初回特別仕樣) variant as well.

Unlike the previous Centenario and Veneno the Performante first color was sold out during the Feb launch in Japan. It is also very interesting to learn that Tomica is also exploring other areas to differentiate between the 2 similar castigs with more than just color.

The first color Performante in yellow comes in gloss finish whereas the mainline in orange comes in matt finish and gold trim for the wheels. Overall the Performante in 1/62 scale is sleek as compared with the other 2 castings in my video.

I hope that it does have some detailing on the rear as well similar to the Centenario. It is definitely a nice addition to your Lamborghini collection.

M2 Machines Auto Japan MiJo exclusives review. This time I break the hood!

Today review features the awesome MiJo exclusive Auto Japan Series from M2 Machines. After the successful debut of Auto Japan series 1, M2 Machines continue to roll out this exclusive set number at 3200 pieces which consists of
1969 Datsun Bluebird 1600SSS
1970 Nissan Fairlady Z432

1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R

The casting are well made with beautiful paint job especially on the Fairlady which I broke the hood while filming.

Hence be careful while opening up the hood as they are held by plastic. Overall the set is on par with a standard Tomica Limited Vintage and they come in a standard case and protector pack as well which is reusable.

Given the affordable price point it makes a fine addition to any JDM or M2 mini car collectors.

Who is lucky enough to own a piece of History from Tomica?

I believe for many avid Tomica collectors you will most likely to have a piece of Made in Japan (MIJ) Tomica among your collection. The content you are reading today is not about the latest release nor the hype from Takara Tomy. It’s more of a lost and found Tomica you miss since your early childhood days from the 70s - 90s. This will also mark as a new content for my blog as well as Instagram post under “Hot Kustoms Childhood Cars”. #hotkustomschildhoodcars.

The set featured below is a Very Hard to Find (VHTF) Limited Edition Tomica Shareholders set. This set including the information today do not belong to me but to my collector buddy James. James who is from Tokyo and also a Tomica purist is lucky to hunt this exclusive set in the wild during one of his field trip. Like me he likes to share his finds with wealth of information to many in the community.

With permission he gives me a go ahead to share with the rest of like minded collectors in my blog.

As shown below. This set comes in a plain white box.  A welcome letter. A mini booklet as well as a congratulatory Pikachu folder LOL. Why Pikachu? But the highlight is actually the information behind the boxset.

“This interesting Tomica is not about the Made in Japan cars, but the educational information on the box itself.” - James

Every year Takara Tomy will produce a Shareholders Box set. These not-for-sale sets are for internal distribution only. They usually comes in set of 2,3 & 4. Although in recent years we can only see 2 cars set. What makes this set so special is because it contains the information and history on Tomica logo evolution. To me this information is valuable and each car in the box set comes with the logo from different era and the history behind it.

The information as follows on the back of the box (see the five different logos from L to R)

E.T.CO.
Eiichiro Tomiyama was the founder of Tomy. and E.T. was his initials.
From 1930 to 1950, this company logo was used.

TOMIYAMA
In 1959, the company used this bear logo to create awareness for overseas markets.

TOMY
A new logo of two healthy children was introduced in 1963, promoting equality and growth with a boy and a girl.

TOMY
Another tomy logo was released in 1982, this time without the boy and the girl. this was to strengthen their branding awareness across the world

Dream
knowing that children have many dreams to pursue, the company released this logo for their 75th anniversary celebrations. Also in line with 21st century, the company direction was to grow with all the children and their dreams.

Overall this is an amazing piece of Tomica history and James is a lucky man. Thanks pal for the information and photos! Let's catch up soon in Tokyo.

Tarmac Works BMW M3 E30 review. I break the wiper! Ouch!

Up for review is the pair of beautifully crafted BMW M3 by Tarmac Works (TWS). It really live up to the reputation of Hobby64 standards. With intricate details and beautiful finish on the entire casting. Not to mention my love for the Jagermeister livery as well as the Malaysian edition Michelin Tires livery. The interior is painted with rollcage color consistent with the body.

What I'm impressed most is the green rim line on wheels on the Michelin version. However with such an awesome overall presentation they do not roll as with majority of TWS castings. This is a big let down especially for collectors like me. I just do not understand why its just so difficult to even make them to roll. It's basic. Yes I know its a collector edition and meant to be admire but for them to roll it's basic in my opinion.

They are make in the like similar to Kyosho which is also featured in my video as well. Hence for this series I have to be selective and it's tough to keep up with TWS as dozens of special editions are rolling out every month.

Overall these are still a fabulous pair in terms of presentation. Remember handle them with care when removing them from case as they are fragile. Do not handle them like me .  :(

Hot Wheels Top 10 Super Treasure Hunt

I was sorting my carded collection and I thought hey why not I do a video on my top 10 fave Supers.

We may have our lucky streak once in a while and score lottery on peg. Be it a Velocita or 16 Angels fantasy $TH. A super is still a super.

This video comprises of what I think significant Supers score in my opinion although I do not score the above 9 of 10 on pegs. These are $TH highly sought by collectors relevant to our era. With some the prices gone insane online over the years.

Stay on the video to see all the final 10 and of course many will have your own fave as well. Please let me know your fave gems by commenting below.

Majorette Dubai Police & Mercedes AMG G63 Walk-Thru

Dubai Police has one of the fastest cars in the world to curb speeding in their country surrounded by exotic cars. Thanks to Majorette for sending me the complete series for review and I like to take the opportunity to walk-thru the Mercedes G 63 series as well.

Actually the Dubai Police which used to be Middle East Exclusive has reached to other regions as well last year. They are available in single blister pack. Set of 3 and set of 5. FYI you can’t find the complete series in one specifc country which I believe all 10 castings can be found only in Middle East. For Singapore we do have the single and 5 pack set.
They are:
Lamborghini Aventador
Dodge Viper
Chevy Camaro
Mercedes SLS
Porsche Panamera
Bentley Continental GT V8 S
Audi R8
Nissan GT-R
Ford Mustang Boss
Mercedes AMG G 63
Mercedes AMG G 63 (Yellow)
Mercedes AMG G 63 (Black)
Mercedes AMG G 63 (White)

The livery is well printed with beautiful. Of course it will be even better if it comes with rubber tires. I believe it will be a hit with many collectors even if we have to pay for a slightly higher price. Do enjoy the walk-thru with the Mercedes G 63 as well which has proven to be such a popular hit with collectors worldwide.

Hot Kustoms Walk-Thru: Tomica Limited Vintage Toyota Crown Wagons

Yes we all love the Datsun / Nissan wagons but let’s not forget about Toyota. Tomica Limited Vintage (TLV) has faithfully produced these beautiful crown wagons in 1/64 glory true to its 1/1 counterpart. I’m looking forward to the Osaka Prefectural Crown Van Police which has just released as well.

For now let’s do a short review for the ’73 Crown Van which were released on Jan. As usual they came in a pair with nostalgic lime green similar color to my fridge in the early 80s and light gunmetal gray color in my term. As usual the TLV packaging box is consistent through out with no updates to the packaging design unlike the Tomica Premium series.

For wagons mini cars collectors these pair is a god send. Intricate details, trimmings as well as realistic wheelsets true to the promise by TLV. At a recommended retail price of approx 2500 JPY (23 USD) the price tag is worth every penny. Of course throughout the years TLV has released several of these Toyota Crown wagons castings which I will walk through them in my video except for the latest release.

The castings featured are:
• Toyota Crown Van Deluxe (1973) Green
• Toyota Crown Van Deluxe (1973) Light Gunmetal Gray
• Toyota Crown Van Deluxe (Taiyo vol. 5) Light Blue.
• Toyota Crown Wagon Pearl Blue
• Toyota Crown Wagon Pearl Blue
• Toyopet Crown Ambulance (5th Year Anniversary Edition)

• Toyopet Crown Osaka Police

Hot Kustoms Review: Tarmac Greenlight Vs Hot Wheels F&F Skyline R34

Happy to score a recent Tarmac Works Greenlight collab "For Paul" F&F Chase and regular. It is also interesting to note the change in trend for the Green Machine Chase.

Recently more chases do not really come with Green Wheels nor body instead they come in other color variation and treatment for the wheelset such as the one in this video with raw body.

It makes a nice pair with the recent Hot Wheels F&F R34 release as well around the same price range.

Hot Kustoms Uboxing: Awesome releases from Majorette

Sharing my recent haul from Majorette through Instagram Live on Feb 10 Thanks to Majorette for sending these goodies along my way for features.

They are all current releases with most of them specific to region exclusives. For 2018 Majorette will have loads of releases which many have seen for the 2018 online catalogue with new first to model castings and wheelsets.

They have shared with me exciting collaborations as well which will be shared at a later stage once it's concrete. Of course I will do a dedicated review for each of them but for now do enjoy the video.
